Match Frame Media interviewed on OFM 28/6

Posted by Corne Scheepers on Wednesday, June 29, 2011,

I had the pleasure of being interviewed by OFM's Yolanda Maartens yesterday evening. This was a brand new experience for me - usually Yolanda is the one behind the microphone and I'm in the control room with the sound enigneer! Being a techie by nature I really enjoyed being in the studio and seeing a pro at work. Folks, Yolanda is not just a great radio voice. She runs the entire show (and I really mean the ENTIRE show) by herself from the studio in Potchefstroom, tech support included!

The song Loaded Gun is playing on 94.7, OFM and KFM at the moment and the music video itself will be aired on all the major broadcast stations soon.

The guys play live in Potchefstroom at Fine Things at least once a month so go and support some great local music talent.

Upgraded to Adobe CS 5.5 Master Suite

Posted by Corne Scheepers on Sunday, June 19, 2011,

I finally took the leap and upgraded to Adobe CS 5.5 Master Suite.

I've always wanted the full set of Adobe goodies but the pricing for a commercial licence is rather steep. However I find myself getting involved in more and more web and print projects so I figured it was about time to get the full set of tools.

CS 5.5 is sweet! The folks at Adobe are masters at intergration and all the apps in the Master Suite play along nicely as has been the case since the inception of the CS suites. Also, ...

Green with envy?

Posted by Corne Scheepers on Tuesday, June 14, 2011,

You don't need a studio for a green screen shoot anymore.

I've now done two green shoots for a client using a new portable green screen and LED lighting and I'm thrilled with the results. The green screen kit was custom made for me by a Jhb-based supplier and consists of a cloth screen that attaches to a lightweight aluminium frame. The frame and cloth itself can be set up in a 1.5m x 2m configuration or a larger 2m x 3m configuration.

Of course green screen videography only works when your li...

My little monster

Posted by Corne Scheepers on Tuesday, June 7, 2011,

I took delivery of new mobile editing workstation on Friday and it's a little monster with a nuclear powerplant under the keyboard! I loved my old 17 inch HP and it turned out to be a real workhorse, taking all the use and abuse that comes with being a mobile edit suite without missing a beat. The old 8730w really worked hard - when I got back from the doccie shoot last year I had to use an air compressor to flush out all the dirt and grime from three weeks of bush editing!

I'm a firm believer...

The documentary film "Finding the Fable" is now available on YouTube. The film was written and directed by Cape Town-based director and playwright Nicholas Ellenbogen. The film project was commissioned by the NWU's African Centre for Disaster Studies and was funded by USAID. The film boasts a musical score performed by SA acoustic duo Lloyd & Bruno. Their song "Loaded Gun", the theme song of the film, is currently playing nationally on all the major radio stations. The documentary and the mus...
